Lane Leeffers

We had two women come to our house, both from Kraamvogel: Tara for four days and Monique for three. We loved having both of them with us, it was overwhelmingly clear that both of them love their job and do it with such joy and compassion. Both of them made us feel confident in our abilities as new parents while also making sure we were safe and providing the best possible care for Lane. We never felt judged, nor did we feel like we had to walk on eggshells around them. Both encouraged open and honest communication and fit into our home so naturally. They also were both very willing and able to speak in English which I greatly appreciated.
It is clear that the merge between Kraamzus and Kraamvogel is a bit messy. I wasn’t able to log into my portal at first and because of the holiday weekend it took a long time to get access. The Whatsapp bot felt very impersonal compared to the care we received. We did not know until Monique arrived that she would only be available in the afternoons, and there wasn’t a clear way to make up the hours we missed had we wanted to. Luckily we were feeling confident and happy to not use all the hours to have more time as a family, but if that weren’t the case I would have felt a bit neglected by the organization. We also would have appreciated having only one person for whole period, however we know it’s not always possible. We bonded so well with Tara, it was very disappointing to have to say goodbye early. We were nervous to get someone new because of how much we enjoyed having Tara with us. Luckily Monique was also wonderful, but regardless, having the same person would have relieved some stress.
Overall we were happy with our care, and understand that sometimes things are a little less smooth during times of transition.
