Our Kraamzus Jolanda!
Where can we start our appreciation to the beloved Kraamzus Jolanda?
Let us start with the professional guidance that we receive from our kraaamzus Jolanda, she just gave as we can say a full theoretical as well as practical guidance related to childcare (i.e., it is like receiving a lecture from the lecturer in the classroom). Jolanda gave us plenty of information for instance, when the baby shows a sign by himself to feed “Feeding on a comment”, where there is a pain in babies abdomen “do a massage on his abdomen in a clockwise direction” and when the baby has a white thing in his tongue “Eskimos, just call to the doctor”. These are some of the information that she provided for us.
The above three examples are just a piece of information that we selected but she talked as more about the number of diapers that we are going to use per day, the different types of vitamins that the baby is going to receive, about the normal range of body temperature of the kid and the mother, in changing the sleeping direction of the babies and she give us an advise on controlling the diets of mother (feeding habits). Now let us jump into the most crucial part of maternity care.
The daily activity of Jolanda was very attractive and professional. All those eight days she was taking care of the baby and the mother in a very consistent way. Some of her activities are checking the feeding, measuring body temperature and weight of the baby. She also daily measures the pols, the body temperature and nH of the mother of the baby. In addition to this she also change the diaper, playing with the baby, washing the baby, contacting with our kids back home (i.e., Ethiopia) through video calling and singing Christmas son for the baby by holding him in her hands (i.e., Wish you a merry Christmas…..wish you a merry Christmas….). And also she showed to us amazing things like our 8 days baby can walk with his instinct, besides these amazing things she told us many Dutch cultures.
Finaly, we don’t have many words to express our feelings regarding the care she provided for the whole family. Our world deserves the women like her to just continuing the life on our planet. We would like to say God bless her and her family. We wish her also plenty year of celebration for Christmas, and we wish her a happy Christmas as well as a happy new year.
