Pregnant? Congratulations! You’ve got an exciting, but above all, special time ahead of you.
My name is Zus Berger and I’m mother to two wonderful boys and a beautiful girl, as well as being the managing director at the maternity care provider KraamZus, which in English translates as maternity nurse.
I used to be a maternity nurse myself and I can categorically state that I think maternity nursing is the greatest profession in the world! It’s so rewarding to be able to assist young parents with all the new and exciting things that a baby brings into their lives. Your first week following the birth should also be a celebration to be enjoyed with your whole family!
I set up KraamZus in 2006 based on the conviction that it’s incredibly important that one maternity nurse be assigned to each family and that this one nurse stays with you throughout your care. This creates a sense of calm and reassurance in a period of your life that’s already hectic enough as it is.
I also believe it’s extremely important that our organization pays personal attention to you. This is why there’s always someone available to answer your questions, so please don’t hesitate to call whenever you’ve got a question. It’s also good to know that we always call you during your first week of motherhood. On Day Three, we’ll call to enquire whether you’re satisfied with the care you’re receiving and whether there’s anything else we can do for you.
As a final note, I just want to tell you that all our kraamzussen (maternity nurses) are wonderful women who are all fully trained, certified and highly experienced. Some of our maternity nurses have even been working in the field for over thirty years! All of our maternity nurses will endeavour to make your first week of motherhood a special time that you’ll be able to look back on with great pleasure and particular fondness.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and I look forward to being able to providing you with the maternity care that you deserve!
